Privacy Policy for WordBaby

This Privacy Policy applies to the WordBaby app, developed by Alexander Larsen.

Effective Date: March 19, 2025

1. WHAT DATA I COLLECT

With your permission, I collect anonymous usage data to improve app functionality, fix bugs, and enhance the user experience. If enabled, this may include an Advertising ID (AD_ID), which is only used for analytics and not for advertising.

This data includes:

- Screen Views (which screens you visit and for how long)
- Button Presses & Feature Usage (e.g., next button in book mode)
- Book Mode Usage (book selection, text/voice preferences, session duration)
- Quiz Mode Usage (quiz type, selected topics, session duration, number of rounds played)
- Settings Changes (which settings were modified during a session)
- Anonymous Error Reports (to identify and fix bugs)
- In-App Purchases (when the purchase modal is opened & closed, purchase attempts, and error reasons)
- App Security Features (whether a PIN code is set or removed)
- Subscription Status (whether the user has a premium pass: none, subscription, or lifetime)

Firebase Analytics may also collect approximate location data (country/region) based on IP address to provide aggregated usage insights. This does not include precise GPS coordinates or personal tracking.

2. HOW I USE THIS DATA

This data is used exclusively for:
- Improving app features and usability
- Identifying and fixing technical issues (bug reports & crash logs)
- Understanding app engagement (which features users interact with the most)

I do not collect personally identifiable information (PII) such as names, email addresses, or IP addresses.

Advertising ID (AD_ID) may be accessed by Firebase Analytics for app usage analytics, but only if analytics is enabled. It is not used for personalized ads, ad tracking, or user profiling. If you opt out of analytics, AD_ID will not be used.

I do not sell or share collected data with third parties.

3. HOW YOU CAN OPT OUT

- Click "No, thanks" on the initial privacy screen at first app startup. This will prevent any analytics tracking, including the use of Advertising ID (AD_ID). Your choice will be saved and respected in future sessions unless you choose to opt back in.
- You can opt in or out of data collection at any time by toggling the option in Settings → Privacy → Enable Data Collection.

4. DATA STORAGE & SECURITY

- All data is stored and processed by Google Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics (https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy).
- Data is fully anonymized, meaning it cannot be linked to you personally.
